Controller for Gamers with Limited Mobility of Their Hands Invented by InventHelp Inventor (NJD-1568)

  (March 14, 2018)

PITTSBURGH, March 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Inventors from Farmingdale, N.J., have developed PAWS, an assistive device that will help individuals with limited hand dexterity to use electronic devices, such as gaming controls. A prototype is available.

"Due to limited mobility in the hands, many individuals can not enjoy media that requires the use of hand-held controllers. We want to provide this population with the chance to enjoy video games and expand their access to media entertainment," said the inventors.

PAWS provides a solution for people who enjoy gaming but have limited hand mobility. It allows hands to rest comfortably on the controller using little effort to play even the most sophisticated and popular game titles on the market. This will eliminate stress on the joints, tendons and ligaments, as well as prevent further fatigue and injury. In addition to personal in-home use, this device can be used in rehabilitation facilities as it will help stimulate the brain and promote hand-eye coordination.

The original design was submitted to the New Jersey office of InventHelp. It is currently patent pending and available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
