University and College Lighting by Lamps Plus - Licensing Agreement Signed to Produce Officially Licensed College Merchandise(November 28, 2012)

In an agreement signed with The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), an affiliate of IMG College, Lamps Plus has been granted the right to sell lamp shades printed with the official logos of the nations most-revered and popular educational institutions. Printed using Lamps Plus patented giclee process, this agreement represents an intersection of the two companys core strengths.

This new agreement utilizes our capability to produce and distribute quality lighting designs from our California studios, so that students, alumni and passionate college sports fans alike can flaunt their school pride in bright and shining colors in their home.
The University of Alabama, University of Oklahoma, LSU, University of Nebraska, UCLA, University of California Berkeley, Florida State University and the University of Wisconsin are among the first universities that will be rolled out under this licensing agreement. Sports lamps from additional colleges and universities will continue to be added in the months ahead.
Each college lighting design is created using Lamps Plus patented giclee printing process, in which lamp shades are made to order, using a state-of-the-art fine art printing process with fade-resistant 100-year archival quality inks. Once printed, the shades are hand assembled and paired with a lamp base of the customers choosing. These high quality shades are translucent, allowing a warm glow to shine through and illuminate the college logo. Ideal for a game room, dorm room or office, the new collegiate designs are available in a variety of styles and make perfect gifts for students and school alumni involved in team sports. Floor lamps, pendant lights and plug-in swag style chandeliers are a few of the styles available. Most schools will also carry each design as a stand-alone lamp shade.
