Video-Based Review of GridIron Flow 2.0 Essentials

By Pedro Ruiz

Think of Flow 2.0 essentials as a visual Dropbox for media assets, with versioning and time tracking.

Let's take a look at a project I have setup. In the project map, you can quickly see file relationship that make up projects. When you jump to Edit Map mode, you can see how this 3d model was assembled by seeing the connections to the illustrator outline, psd textures, the output renders like alpha channels, down to the music and sound fx that make up this project. You can even search through layer names and see what fonts and plugg-ings were used.

Next, lets take a look at setting up team members. Add members to a project by click on the invite member button.
Flow keeps track of all project workflow maps in the background, while allowing multiple teams to work on the file they need without those nasty sub version conflicts.

Team files stay synced with notifications on updated files and searchable, taggable xmp metadata that syncs to the Cloud.
Users can leave notes for changes on specific files. Let says we want to use a different texture for the wood. Wee can navigate to the texture file and leave a note to roll back changes to and older version.

Using a time machine style backup with adjustable steps and lockable options - Flow automatically saves a version of each change made to files - If the client isn't happy we can go back 2 versions behind (show a new note on the file to roll back 2 versions) with full control of how many version to save or delete.

Users can now automatically keep track of time spent of each file, application utilization or adjust time spend on other tasks, like meetings.
